Josantony Joseph

Josantony Joseph has over four decades of experience working on various human rights issues (especially Food and Water Rights) with Indian and International Civil Society Organizations as well as with the Government of India. These include stints as the CEO of an International Funding Agency, Asia Partnership for Human Development, based in Hong Kong, and as consultant/trainer with various international and Indian organizations including WaterAid, Oxfam, ActionAid, UNICEF, UNFPA, Welthunger Hilfe etc. He was Western Region Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (a Govt. of India outreach program to rural youth), and was also the Maharashtra Advisor to the Commissioner appointed by the Supreme Court of India to monitor the Food Security Schemes in India, He was one of the two responsible to set up the National Centre for Advocacy Studies in Pune, and on whose Board he sits, as well as Board Member of Creative Handicrafts, an internationally recognized Fair Trade Organization based in Mumbai. He has been a resource person for various organizations around the world on various topics including on Advocacy and Rights Based Approaches. He has many books and articles on various topics connected with these human rights issues.
